sotomayor Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor finally got a chance to publicly address her infamous “wise Latina” quote at day two of her Senate hearings this morning. Latinas are always considered to be wise in this society, so it really sounded like bragging when she said it out loud. Her excuse? She was addressing Latino law students at the time and she was trying to inspire them to believe that their experiences could enrich the legal system and that they could accomplish anything they choose. While hating whitey. Just kidding! We love whitey, that dickens.

  1. Has anyone else been struck by how still she sits while those Senators talk and talk and..
She does not fidget, move her hands, grimace. I find her composure quite extrordinary.
