Seven hundred Mexican Michael Jackson fans met up at the Zócalo in Mexico City to attempt to rehearse the “Thriller” dance together for a performance on his birthday on August 29. The aim is to break the world’s record, but the results were, apparently, pandemonium. Will they pull it together in time? Stay tuned.

Wow, so DF, one of the largest cities on this side of the world, still can’t get enough folks together to beat Austin’s record of 881 folks doing the Thriller dance at the same time. Hell yeah. I’m a proud Texican this day. :D http://www.neatorama.com/2008/10/27/thriller-record-set-in-austin/

Sorry, mimiroro, it’s not the same record. Nice try, though.

I swear if they give this record to Mexico, it’s complete bull sh*t….Standing there and doing nothing while the music plays doesn’t count as dancing to it.

They just use kids to help boost their numbers because no one is going to say no to kids….I’m teaching a few hundred people how to do it for October 3rd (my attempt), I may not break the record but atleast the people I teach know how to do the dance.

It is about who does it better, look at the photo, thalf the people are just standing there. I’m an MJ fan and if someone break the world record I want to see it done by people who know how to do it….Not kids who just stand there and count as 1 person.
