picture-37Adorable Disney bot Demi Lovato’s mother, Dianna Hart DeLaGarza is something of a celebrity in her own right: She’s a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader! She once sang country music! She had totally bitchin’ hair! And now two of her three daughters are pretty famous! Because, honestly, there is nothing that captures our interest quite like trying to figure out the motivations of a stage parent, we decided to get to know Dianna, a Dallas native, a little better.

You know she’s important because she has a MySpace page, allegedly written by Demi, that features a trademark symbol next to her name:

For the record, cute as this page may be, we’re fairly certain Dianna doesn’t go by her ex-husband’s last name anymore, especially since the two are not on good terms. Still: You know you’ve reached a certain level of recognition when people start making fake MySpace pages for you.

In a “WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY NOW?” features of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader’s site, Dianna talks about all the stuff she’s been up to since she was kicking and flailing her arms under a giant helmet of hair:

Today I have 3 daughters in the entertainment industry - Dallas Lovato, Demi Lovato, and Madison DeLaGarza - and I help run our family artist management company, DLG Entertainment, Inc., as well as our production company, DeLaGarza Entertainment, Inc., here in Los Angeles. The things I learned from being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader have helped us get to where we are today, and I am forever grateful to the organization for giving me that foundation.

Yeah, she went there. She named named her eldest after her city of birth. Another fun fact Dianna reveals is that she can’t cook. At all! Even though she’s tried. We feel you, Di.

Demi, being utterly adorable, is really proud of her mom and preemptively defends her against those who would claim cheerleaders are fluffy and silly and have dated hair:

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders were really respectful and they weren’t just girls that pranced around in little outfits. They’re really hard working. My mom tells me a lot of stories about how they would have to work so hard every single day. She would often tell me how sometime you couldn’t go get a drink of water on the field, even if you’re dying of thirst. Or, you had to wear those outfits while it’s snowing. She just taught me a lot by all of the stories about how hard she had to work and to never give up and things like that. I think the cheerleaders work just as hard as the football players do.

Aw. She’s a stronger woman than we are, then. Because if we found ourselves on a football field in the snow wearing hotpants, we’d cry. And then shank someone.
