ny1_noticiasRemember when we went on NY1 Noticias and tried to speak espanich? We did it again! Or rather, they posted a second clip of us last week. This one features Guanabee staffers Daniel Mauser and Cindy Casares talking about Guanabee (as opposed to Anyguey) breaking stereotypes. (Like the one that says all Latinos should speak Spanish.) Plus we get to reminisce about our favorite video feature from way back in the day when we hired a Mexican to stand in line for our new iPhones. Ah, feudalism. You have served us well.

I still don’t understand how Guanabee breaks latino stereotypes.

    • It’s like this guest. If you have to ask the question you won’t understand the answer.

Actually, that’s a fair question. How is Guanabee breaking stereotypes? Hmmm. Maybe it’s the fact that the guy who started Guanabee is Jewish. I mean, a Jewish person in charge of an internet site–unheard of! Or maybe it’s the “cuban, white latina” who typically writes about how it’s “complicated” and “challenging” being “white” and “latino” in the states. Oh, and don’t forget the Latino hipsters! Guanabee LOVES to hire Latino hipsters. And then there’s Cindy . . . ’nuff said.

Until I started reading Guanabee, I thought all Mexican women living in border towns had sex with donkeys for money. Clearly, such a practice is not just limited to border towns, thank you Guanabee for enlightening me……

Guanabee doesn’t brake stereoptypes, it enforces them and it creates new ones.

    • A brake is something found in vehicles. It is used to slow them down. To enforce is to compel people to behave in a particular way. Is your Spanish as on par with your English?
