heathersHeathers, the original Mean Girls, is getting remade for television with an extended storyline and cameo appearances from some of the original cast in order to further sadden and terrify you. Yes, your youth is being rendered increasingly outdated and meaningless!

We’re not against the concept of remakes except in cases where the movie on which they are based is considered a beloved classic, but, since this is going to go ahead and happen whether we like it or not, let’s at least make it somewhat interesting. Say the remake were to have an all-Latina cast. Who would play whom?

Veronica Sawyer

Original actress: Winona Ryder

Latina actress: Lourdes Leon

Why: She’s pretty and well-liked, while still embodying the quintessential iconoclast. Veronica Sawyer can see through the facade presented by the three Heathers because she’s not like them - she’s an outsider who happens to be on the inside.

Heather Duke

Original actress: Shannen Doherty

Latina actress: Selena Gomez

Why: She’s a strikingly pretty brunette whom we’d like to see play against type for once. Yes, yes, we know: You’re a good girl. Embrace your inner asshole, Selena. We think it’s located somewhere near the third eye.

Heather Chandler

Original actress: Kim Walker

Latina actress: Belinda

Why: She can be as snooty as she wants to be and we don’t have to suffer through seeing her throughout the entire film.

Heather McNamara

Original actress: Lisanne Falk

Latina actress: Anahi

Why: Eh, no one remembers her anyway.

Why do you guys think? And who on earth would play JD?

At first, I naturally went with Eddie Olmos as Father Ripper, but upon further review I think Perez Hilton fits the bill. Although Olmos will still have to be written in somewhere.
