Texting While Driving Films Are The New Drinking While Driving Films

Texting while driving. For today’s filmmaker, it’s really the only original thing left to cover. Take for instance this mini-series of a PSA from South Whales about a teenage girl texting while driving and killing everyone in her wake. It goes on for 4 minutes and fifteen seconds and is part of a larger, 30-minute drama called COW. (As in, you cow, you killed your friends by texting while driving.) It was produced and directed by Peter Watkins-Hughe, a BBC documentarian, along with his students at the Newport School of Art, Media and Design and has garnered so much media attention that, from now on, advertising agencies will clamor to write texting while driving PSA’s so they can win awards. Mothers will form groups against texting while driving. (But their names won’t sound as clever when they make them into acronyms.) And teen soap operas will lose at least one minor character to texting while driving accidents each sweeps week. Yes, this little movie is the start of a new era in scaring the shit out of your kids before they ever get behind the wheel. Make sure they watch it and you watch it, too.

when I was in highschool they did the car accident thing, where they set up an accident right infront of my school. it was crazy. Well instead of friends dont let friends drive drunk, it’s now friends dont let friends text & drive.
