Biggest Baby Born In Indonesia… Plus 7 Biggest Things Latinos Have Contributed

No, the picture at left is not Fat Joe at Sizzler’s. It’s a 19.2-pound baby boy born (thankfully) via C-section to an Indonesian woman. Doctors believe the baby’s abnormal size may have something to do with the fact that his mother, who is 41-years-old, has diabetes.
This gigantic womb nugget made us think about some huge contributions Latinos have made over the years. Turns out, we’re good at going big or going home:
- Nachos
Nachos, also known as “what we lived on sophomore year of college,” were invented by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya in 1943. Nacho came up with a dish consisting of fried tortilla chips topped with melted cheese and jalapeños while working at the Victory Club restaurant in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. This simple, but delicious, concoction has proven a big hit with Mexicans and non-Mexicans alike, resulting in such BIG FAT monster meals as this:
- Explosive Diarrhea

Why, yes, I will give you heartburn.
This is the big surprise you get after consuming a whole big thing of nachos. You’re welcome.
- Discoveries
Yeah, we’ve discovered and played a hand in a lot of things that make your life better and healthier. For example: Cuban Carlos Finlay worked to identify the mosquito as a carrier of yellow fever. Argentine Bernardo Houssay discovered the role hormones in the anterior pituitary lobe had on the metabolism of sugars in the body. And Francisco Javier Stavoli is responsible for the first experimental television transmission in Mexico. Just to name three.
- Families
Anyone with even a passing awareness of George Lopez’s standup will know that we all have huge families! Babies exploding everywhere! (My brother and I make up for being the only two kids in our little family unit by being as loud as 12 other kids.)
- Murals

We’re really into murals. From Diego Rivera’s look at the world’s farmers and laborers to the social commentary splashed along the streets of East LA, Latinos have produced some amazing, large-scale works of art.
- Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer is known for her humongous… talent. Music, movies, clothing, posing, she can really do it all. And she’s doin’ it, doin’ it, doin’ it well. Ish.
- Impact
Yeah, we’re pretty changing the face of America with our music, language, food, dances and holidays. No big.

Yes! His picture made my womb twitch uncomfortably.
