Italian Man Arrested In Brazil For Touching And Kissing His Daughter

An Italian tourist was arrested in Brazil after allegedly inappropriately touching and kissing his eight-year-old daughter. The man was vacationing in the coastal resort town of Fortaleza with his Brazilian-born wife and their daughter. A vacationing Brazilian couple reported that they’d witnessed the man touching the young girl in an intimate way before kissing her on the mouth in the resort pool. Resort staff, meanwhile, reported not having witnessed anything unusual or alarming in the man’s interactions with the young girl.
The man’s wife, who said she would not hesitate to defend her daughter were the allegations true, maintains that this is all a misunderstanding, with the Brazilian witnesses believing something was amiss because they were not used to seeing a lighter-skinned father interact affectionately with a darker-skinned daughter.
Somehow we doubt that’s totally uncommon in a place as diverse as Brazil. In fact, we would venture to guess that the difference in skin color between the man and the young girl only worked to bolster pre-existing fears over tourists’ activities in Fortaleza.
Fortaleza, you see, has had ongoing problems with pedophilia, sex tourism and child trafficking. And it appears most sex tourists coming to Fortaleza just so happen to be Italian:
In Brazil 500 thousands sex tourists visit the country every year, 70 thousands of whom are Italians. In 2004 crowds of thousands of Portuguese, Italian, German and US citizens visited the city of Fortaleza causing a general increase of 13% in the tourist sector if compared with the previous year. Concerned with the unordinary surge, a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee has found out that almost the whole tourist offer of Fortaleza lies in cheap sex service along with low costs flights, inexpensive accommodation and all-inclusive tourist packages.
In 2004, an Italian travel agency owner, his Brazilian wife, and two other Italian travel agents were arrested in a bust aimed at combatting the growing sex tourism industry in Fortaleza.
If this Italian tourist is found guilty of molesting the young girl in question, he could stand to face up to 15 years in prison. We’ll keep an eye on the case to see how this all unfolds.

This was big news a couple of weeks ago, I’d even hazard a month. BUT! It’s an insane story. I feel horrible for the dad; he’s been stuck in Brazil for weeks and may lose his job.
He’s still in jail, he’s yet to have his trial, the details of the case are still being put together - it’s still a big story.
And, yes, I feel horrible for him. If he’s not guilty.
How retarded. Brazil wants foreigners money, but they do not like light skinned people. Do they really think if the man was molesting his daughter, he would do it right out in public???? Ask ANY pedophile if they would bring attention to themselves that way. Brazil is as sick as the people who come there for sex with a minor. Maybe they should clean up their own streets, and show that that phony Lula, has really done something to help the poor, so they don’t HAVE to put their children out on the street sell themselves.
Why would 500,000 sex offenders come to Brazil if it weren’t know world wide that the children are starving and willing to sell themselves to save their familys.
