Jenni Rivera Responds To Criticism After Giving Alcohol To Fan With Down’s Syndrome

We recently featured video footage of Jenni Rivera, mid-concert, asking a young man with Down’s Syndrome if he would like to be her boyfriend before offering him a sip of what appears to be alcohol. More than a fun and innovative way to meet a new lover, Jenni’s little stunt drew criticism and accusations ranging from exhibiting poor taste (surely not our Jenni!) to exploiting the developmentally impaired.
Jenni responded to the accusations by saying she would no longer allow cameras to film her shows. Solution-oriented, this one:
From now on I’m not going to allow cameras at my shows so that no one else can criticize me. No more.
There are many artists who don’t give attention to these children (with Down’s Syndrome), but Jenni Rivera does because I am a human being, because everyone who comes here who has two hands, two feet, who can see, who can’t see, those who are perfectly sound of mind and those are have Down’s Syndrome, all deserve my care.
My God, why has this woman yet to be sainted?
