Jennifer Lopez And Pitbull To Collaborate On Song, Minds To Be Blown

And introducing Konsuelo Kardashian
Ok, ok, whatever. Make fun all you want. But the news that Pitbull is collaborating with Jennifer “Don’t Call Me J-Lo” Lopez on her next album makes us happy. Like, deliriously happy. Like so happy we want to dance on a basketball court in a velour tracksuit with Ja-Rule while waving a little Cuban flag and screaming “305 ’til I DIE!” That kind of happy.
Because, you know, there was a time when J-Lo made fun music. Not great, maybe, but fun. You could dance to her music while (perhaps, hypothetically) making a “sassy white girl dancing” pursed lip face and it would just feel so right. And we want her to get back to doing that.
And Pitbull? Sure, he’s moderately to intensely ridiculous and the whole DUI thing was stupid and gross, but he’s a fellow Cuban from Miami and, well. We want him to succeed. So sue us.
Latina caught up with Pitbull after the VMAs and he spilled a few details about the collaboration that make us even more excited. And sassy:
The collaborators just wrapped a music video, which he describes as “an upscale Eyes Wide Shut . . . where my role is being taken advantage of by these beautiful women who are, like, massaging me.” When asked if Lopez was one of the babes, he immediately retorted, “No! . . . “You’re gonna get me in trouble with Marc!”
The song they’ve worked together on is called “Lola,” which, unfortunately, is Marc’s nickname for Jennifer. It’ll appear on her next album, which is due out sometime in January of 2010. There’s also some rumblings that Jennifer might act as a new judge for American Idol, apparently because host Ryan Seacrest things she’d be great for the job. We’re less excited for that, given Jennifer doesn’t really have a personality. We can’t all be perfect!
Anyway: Amazing news. Are we the only fools excited for this album?

Not sure if I am excited but hopefully its good. Old Jenny with Pitbull sounds like it would be a good hit.
Doesn’t Pitbull look giddy in that picture with JLo?
I have to admit they make a cute couple. Cuter than J-Lo and THAT OTHER ONE.
Did anyone catch Pitbull on Ellen? He looked as though he was poured into THAT OTHER ONE’s suit.
