Jimmy Carter has finally stepped forward to call "racism" against the right wingnuts who are acting out at town hall meetings, spreading propaganda about President Obama, and generally holding shit up for the rest of us who really need health insurance.
"There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president," he said in an interview with MSNBC.
Well, we're glad a former president said it, but it's nothing everyone didn't already know. We snuck into a recent tea bagging event, (and not the fun kind), in Salado, Texas held by U.S. Representative John Carter (R-TX31) who represents Williamson County--North Austin and Central Texas. In between the speeches about Jesus, (literally every speech was about Jesus--at a U.S. Congressman's event), we spotted this fellow:
Charming, isn't he? And check out that audience. Not one brown face among them.
They're not terribly young, either. It's interesting to note that when we left the event, we stopped for gas less than five miles away where we encountered a convenience store full of young, working class Latinos.

I live in Round Rock, and its amazing to see the cultural divide. North of RR, you probably won't see a latino in sight. Central and South RR - bam! - melting pot.
ReplyIt is about stealing your money, yes. And funny, since they're probably all on Medicare. How do they think that gets paid for?
Replyjimmy carter is a racist! he should go now! obama is half and half, I am hispanic and I and my family didn't support obama.
ReplyI am Hispanic and did not support Barack Obama. We need health and immigration reform. Not socialism nor amnesty.
