Madonna’s Celebration Video Shows Why She’s Been Waiting For The Coming Of Jesus

Woohoo! It’s here! Madonna’s long-awaited (eh?) video for her latest single, Celebration. The video includes a lot of good-looking people who are not Madonna jumping around and dancing while she moans a tune we’ve already forgotten. It’s interesting that she gets (Gives herself? We’re fairly sure Madonna plays an integral role in the production of her videos.) much less screen time in this video than in many of her previous music vids.

She further takes the attention of herself (which is, you’ve got to admit, odd for a Madonna video) by including her real-life boyfriend Jesus Luz and shots of the two all kissin’ up on one another, dead-eyed. The degree to which she objectifies him in Celebration is usually reserved for, well. Herself.

It is a little dull, right? Which only further demonstrates Madonna’s genius when it comes to self-marketing - she was able to drum up interest for this video by leaking part of it, then making it available for download, as if it was some awesome and inspiring piece of art worth waiting for and putting in effort to see instead of a fairly run-of-the-mill music video featuring a DJ and various dancers.
