Michael Jackson: The world's second ever analyst-therapist.

In a never-before-seen taped interview conducted by a rabbi, Michael Jackson, King of Pop and Tact, praised Hitler’s oral skills. Wink, nudge.

Said Jackson:

Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was.

The rabbi then asked him whether he believed that, if he could have had the opportunity to meet Hitler, whether he could “touch something inside of him.” Well, what age are we talking about here?

Jackson, ever humble, responded:

Absolutely. I know I could. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong.

Oh, good.

Jackson’s comment is among the list of celebrity quotes that show why we (I) write about celebrity gossip in the first place: We don’t really like celebrity culture. Celebrity worhsip makes us feel uneasy, especially in that it seems to give entertainers the confidence to use the media as a platform for all their opinions and ideas. Leave that sort of idle babbling and navel-gazing to bloggers, people.

Anyway, here’s our list of celebrity quotes that have inspired nausea, confused laughter, shock or slight nausea:

7. Jenni Rivera: “You guys created the scandal, but the sister who raised him for 29 years is very happy and he’s happy. He’s beyond ecstatic, and it’s just sad that people can’t just say, ‘Jenni Rivera made a young man with Down’s Syndrome’s dream come true.’”

It’s not that it’s hard to say, Jenni, it’s that you articulate your own perceived achievements in humanitarianism so much better than anyone else ever could.

6. Charles Perez: “I think he’s a company man. I think if you had to label Bill a gay man or a company man, you would pick company man. I also talked to my agent about it. My agent said to me, “You know, Charles, you got to remember, there were Jews in the 1930s who sold out other Jews so they would stay good with the guys in power.”

Perez attributed this quote about his former News Director, Bill Pohovey, to his agent. Who denied ever having said this. Emphatically. Perez went on to say lesbians have it easier than gay men as far as the media is concerned and this he is like Martin Luther King, Jr. of the gheys.

5. Aubrey O’Day: “As someone who’s met him - I’ve met him and worked with him when I was in Cuba - I’m not defending his behavior in many instances, but I will have to 100% agree that he’s an incredibly brilliant man. He has outlived, you know, tons of our presidents.”

Aubrey called Fidel Castro and Adolf Hitler brilliant men during her appearance on Fox News. And everyone got upset about it for some reason. Even though, you know. She’s not incorrect?

4. Suzanne Somers: “They took a beautiful man and put poison in his body. Why couldn’t they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins? I hate to be controversial…but I have to speak out.”

Suzanne, who hates to be controversial, expressed her thoughts on Patrick Swayze’s death before his body had a chance to grow cold.

3. Madonna: “I’ve never been to Romania before and I am happy to be here. But I found out that there is a lot of discrimination against Gypsies in Eastern Europe, and that makes me very sad, especially because we believe in acceptance, Gypsies, homosexuals, people that are different. Everyone must be treated the same, don’t forget that!”

Madonna’s mid-concert soapbox speech did not sit well with Romanian fans, who booed the singer and seemed to feel she was an outsider passing judgment on their country.

2. Sharon Stone: “They’re not being very nice to the Dalai Lama, who’s a good friend of mine … I’m not happy about how the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else … All these earthquakes and stuff happened and I thought, ‘Is that karma?’ When you are not nice, bad things happen to you.”

Sharon Stone couldn’t wait to teach the world about karma and her friendship with the Dalai Lama following the 2008 earthquakes in China that left many dead and homeless.

1. Perez Hilton: “You’re not an artist; you’re a faggot.”

Perez Hilton, champion of gay rights, called Will.i.am a faggot and got punched in the face for all his trouble.

  1. You know, these are not very well-educated people who are used to speak intelligently about international affairs and modern advances in healthcare. These are certainly not worse than the pseudo-intellectual pronouncements of the average moron, it’s just that as famous people, they have a much larger public platform in which to spout their views. And be publicly humiliated. Does anyone take of of these celeb quips seriously?
