guacamoleSince it happens to be National Buy Our Shit Please Day, we decided to celebrate with a very spicy guacamole recipe. Guacamole, obviously, need not be fiery, but we don’t, personally, think a meal is a success unless we’re crying, our tongue stings and there’s snot running down our face. We make a great date.

Plus, after the recipe, we have something cool to show you. (Not our date face; don’t worry.) Check it out:

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripened avocados
  • 1 Habanero chile
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)

Preparation:

1. Cut the avocados in half, discard the seeds and using a large spoon, scoop out the flesh into a food processor or a bowl.

2. Using gloves, cut the Habanero chile in half, scrape out the seeds and discard the stem area. Roughly chop each half into quarters and add it to the avocado.

3. Remove the skin from the garlic and add it and the remaining ingredients to the avocado.

4. Blend in a food processor in pulse mode, for 30 seconds to one minute or until nearly smooth. Or you can use a stick blender directly in a bowl to blend the guacamole. [Ed. note: Or, if you have any sense, you'll use a molcajete.] Serve immediately.

Pretty simple, right? Now, take a gander at this recipe for an avocado seafood salad. You will not be disappointed. We promise.

Seriously, this is so awesome.

I know how to make some bomb ass guacamole that looks exactly like in the picture

    • Yeah, the one in the picture looks great. I prefer it with a lot of texture (molcajete > blender). Extra-smooth guacamole isn’t as interesting.

  2. that pic looks deelish. but it probably has green peas mixed in; makes the guac look greener. if you’re looking to cut down on calories, do 1/3 peas and 2/3 guac. it works and tastes the same once you whore it up with the other ingredients.
