Girl In China Nicknamed “Cat Girl” For The Pelt-Like Growth On Her Back
27 October 2009, 10:33 AM. By Alex Alvarez
Six-year-old Li Xiaoyuan of Fengkai, China has been dubbed “cat girl” and “boar girl” due to a large, hairy growth that has gradually taken up most of her back.
What started out as a small birthmark grew into a gray patch of fur that is now starting to spread to her arms and face. The condition has left doctors baffled and at a loss for how to treat the growth given its size and the probability of post-surgery hemorrhaging. (So… remove it in parts?) They believe the little girl may be suffering from a disorder that causes normal, otherwise healthy moles to being to grow at a rapid rate.
Li Xiaoyuan’s mother says the condition has taken a toll on her daughter as other children taunt her, refer to her as “cat girl,” and refuse to play with her. Adults, she says, usually stare and sometimes take photos.
And, because the internet is an overwhelming font of knowledge, while trying to find more details about this story, we stumbled upon another, less innocent Boar Girl.
