don-omarPuerto Rican reggaetonero Don Omar is in a wee bit of a tiff with Univision after learning that the network has censored and/or banned him. Dramatical! Why would anyone want to keep the writhing masses from feasting their eyes on those exquisite eyebrows? A travesty, that.

Luckily for gossip bloggers, Don Omar took to Twitter to air his grievances, like you do. As with all Tweets, these should be read from bottom to top:

Damn, Don. According to the singer, he’s been banned for having defended his relationship with his wife Jackie Guerrido, a TV weatherperson who… happens to work at Univision, reporting the weather on Primer Impacto. No idea how defending a relationship leads to censorship or a ban. But, then again, we can’t drink this week following our wisdom tooth extraction so, for once, we’re not as drunk as Univision execs and thus cannot understand their logic.

Banning popular entertainers from TV is so silly, Jesus Christ. What are they trying to accomplish? This can only end well for Don Omar, he’ll get some good publicity out of it. And does the Univision-watching demographic really overlap with the Reggaeton-listening demographic? I doubt it. Univision’s core audience is non-English speaking abuelitas and kids with the flu that are being forced to watch El Gordo y La Flaca on their sick day.

  2. The first thing that’s gonna happen is that Telemundo gonna make a big deal out of it. Just like the Fernando Del Rincon thing, where they made 7562 special reports and on prime 6pm time.

in response to guest, i believe univision owns La Kalle radio formats across the country. so there’s your overlap.
