Feliz Navidad, Mofo: José Feliciano Vs. Tito El Bambino
15 October 2009, 10:42 AM. By Alex Alvarez
This is the feud to end all feuds, as far as we’re concerned. Puerto Rican reggaetonero Tito El Bambino has raised the ire of music veteran José Feliciano by committing an act so heinous, so awful, we’re not exactly sure why he hasn’t been locked away in an oubliette. Tito, you see, is releasing a song called…
FELIZ NAVIDAD.
José Feliciano is so very, very miffed that the younger singer would think of doing such a thing that he complained about it during the White House’s “Fiesta Latina” and told El Gordo y La Flaca:
Why didn’t he seek out something original? I’m not a vengeful person, but this pains me because I would never think of doing something like this to another songwriter.
He’s not going to end up having a hit like mine because mine is only in Spanish [Ed. note: MENTIROSO.] and the melody is different. What fault do I have if people copy me?
Yes. That all makes perfect sense. In other news, Feliciano has recently expressed his disdain at learning that a few other guys share the name “José.”
