Jennifer Aniston Is Thinking About Adopting A Child From Mexico

jennifer-aniston-turns-40Jennifer Aniston, lonely heartbroken single woman, is apparently on her way towards adopting a child from a Mexican orphanage. A few months ago, Aniston visited Tijuana’s Casa Hogar Sion, an orphanage described by OK! magazine as “a ramshackle building at the edge of a sprawling shantytown in an eastern suburb of one of Mexico’s most crime-ridden cities” whose employees were surprised by the arrival of an SUV carrying “four smartly dressed Americans.” Gee golly! The Americans have come to save us all! And, gosh darn it, do they ever dress well!

Aniston, according to the article, has been donating money to El Faro, a charity that provides resources and money for the orphanage, for a number of years. Her visit to Casa Hogar Sion was as a representative from El Faro, and not necessarily because she was seeking to adopt a child just yet.

However, adding to the rumors that she will adopt a child from Mexico is the fact that Aniston has recently been house-hunting in the area - the Mexican government strongly encourages prospective parents to stay in Mexico for four months in order to bond with their new child and learn about his or her culture.

Man. It is pretty refreshing, minus the deification of white Americans and all that, to see a high-profile, non-Latina actress turn her attention to the plight of children in Latin America. If Jennifer does decide to adopt a child from Mexico, it might encourage the general public to learn more about conditions children there are facing. Also, ha! Jen’s like so totally gonna adopt a Latino baby before Angelina does!

For those interested, here’s a little more video about the orphanage and some of the people who visit with and help out the center’s kids:

Damn you for posting that video! You almost made me cry at work. I have a 2 year old niece and I can’t imagine her not having a family to call her own that loves her like I do. These poor kids and at the end of the days that’s all its about…the kids. If Jennifer does decide to adopt I hope she appreciates the child.

Re: “Jennifer Aniston, lonely heartbroken single woman..”

Why do the tabloids always depict her that way? It’s so sexist. I seriously doubt she’s lonley or still pining over Brad, but she’s single, childless and approaching 40. Oh no, what a crime! Newsflash: Women can live however they want!

    • Guest, I realize I don’t know you but is there any way I could get you to have a chat with my abuelita? I need allies.

It’s to shame women into taking care of our asses, I swear. Studies have shown that married women live about two years less than single women while single men have shorter life spans than married men. Being married to a man is apparently a drainer. Even career women talk about wanting a “wife,” someone that is basically an all-in-one personal assistant.

Seriously, marriages were set up to benefit men. For Jennifer Aniston’s sake I hope she just enjoys her fortune and doesn’t get hitched unless the guy is worth it (Read: What the fuck is she doing with John Mayer?!). And props to her for going all Latina on the adoption circuit.

People adopt children from the countries of their choice. Don’t slam African babies! In fact, more people adopt children from China than any other country.

I have personally been to this Orphanage, and these kids are amazing. I can’t even begin to describe the love there and how much I wish I could go back. My church hosts a trip there every Fall and all of my closest friends have been there, and have attachments to the kids. My church has very close connections to Casa Hogar and this is a true blessing that Jennifer Aniston may adopt from there. My friends and I are so excited and hope that she goes through with it. We donate monthly to our “family” there, and hope that God brings them happiness.
