Meghan McCain Threatens To Leave Twitter After Being Labeled A Slut

Meghan McCain, tireless defender of Goth teens, recently received some flack from several people on Twitter after she posted a picture of herself holding up a book while wearing a rather form-fitting tank top.
The feedback she received after putting the image up caused Meghan to consider leaving Twitter altogether:
So. Onto one of our favorite topics of conversation: Tetas.
Most ladies happen to have them, and some among us have bigger ones that cannot be adequately contained by mere spaghetti straps. Bigger breasts hold several and sometimes contradictory meaning in American society, and are usually seen as 1) hot, 2) funny, 3) trashy, 4) slutty or 5) an invitation. They aren’t inherently any of these things, of course. However, these labels exist and we’re hard-pressed to believe Meghan’s utter surprise over people’s reactions to this particular picture given she’s a bright girl who, having been in possession of large breasts throughout her entire adult life, cannot be unaware of how these are viewed by society. But the image is more than just Meghan’s chest and the fact that it is prominently on display: It’s that her lips are pursed and smirking, her eyes are narrowed to a rather coy expression, her hair is tousled… All these add context and provide the viewer with hints on how, exactly, to “read” the image.
This doesn’t excuse anyone calling her a slut - she isn’t, and holding up a book while wearing a low-cut tank top wouldn’t render her one anyway.
It just really frustrates us when people behave as if they don’t realize that sex and beauty sell, and that these do help women - even smart, kind, funny, insightful who merit opportunities based on these other characteristics - get ahead in certain industries, like, say, in media and the publishing industry. To use these to one’s advantage by owning the fact that women are rewarded (even while being demonized) for looking, well, hot, and then cry foul when observers, however rudely or hurtfully, comment upon this is, to us, more than a bit disingenuous. And it ultimately does not do a service to women in general. It’s for this same reason that we can’t respect Spanish-language TV anchors who report on sexism or eating disorders or plastic surgery while wearing club gear over svelte, surgically-altered bodies painted a comely shade of neon orange. It’s why we can’t muster the effort to back Tyra Banks when she talks about self-esteem or inner beauty or unattainable standard of beauty. Not that beautiful, surgically-altered women’s voices on the matter don’t count, it’s just difficult for us to divorce their own privilege from their message. They form a necessary gear in this machine and do their part to keep it running.
We genuinely like Meghan. And we feel terrible for her that ignorant people are calling her a slut over this picture. She didn’t do anything wrong. And yet? This incident did not occur in a bubble.

Well first off , I never realized she was built like that. Second,this is what is wrong with being a Twitaholic.Exposing every last bit of mundane that is your life has a price.Just because you can be on Twitter does not mean you should.

It’s not so much the tank top, as the way her junk is all squished and falling out. And she KNOWS that. It *is* a slutty look.

Some men find that particular look to be highly intellectually pleasing, like when you read “Sentimental Education” for the first time. But that damn photo of Andy Warhol on the book ruined the mood for me.
