Googling "Papacito" gets you this picture. Thank you, Quepasa.com.

Latino social network Quepasa.com has launched a new dating application that seeks to unite the few Latinos who are interesting in dating fellow Latinos.

The app - which is like a little game, really - is based on the basic principal that people on the internet love to flirt. The whole concept of the app is kind of cute. Even though we’re not entirely sold on the name: “Papacito.”

The application works by allowing Quepasa users (Quepaisanos? Yeah, you’re welcome. You guys don’t even have to pay us for that one; we’re giving it to you.) to anonymously add people they think are hot as their “Papacitos.” We assume your Papacito can be either male or female, despite the gendered moniker. People who are picked as Papacitos (The more we type that, the more we begin to envision a man wearing a shiny polyester shirt unbuttoned to his navel, thick gold medallion nestled in his forest of chest hair.) are then able to guess who picked them from a number of possible people. If the Papacito is able to correctly guess the person who picked him or her, both people are awarded QPoints, a virtual currency used on the site. People also have the option of selecting a paid subscription to the site or of simply paying for extra guesses.

So: This app is designed to bring Latinos together while allowing them to flirt and have a little fun while also bringing in some additional money to the site.

But. Why would we pay to flirt with people online and we do that nearly every day with Guanabee commenters for free?
