Hosts Gone Mild: Brazilian Host Wallace Souza Turns Himself In

After weeks of being on the run from authorities, Brazilian television host and politician Wallace Souza has finally turned himself in this morning. Souza, as you will recall if you’ve been following our coverage of the case, went on the lam after being ejected as legislator of Amazonas, thus losing his legislative immunity. 

Souza is accused of having ordered and orchestrated several murders in order to boost his TV show’s ratings by having his camera people and reporters be the first on the scene. He also may have dabbled in a wee bit of drug trafficking, placing him on par with the drug traffickers he’d often hire hits on. In many cases, the men he put hits on were his rivals. His program began to arouse suspicion when they began to routinely find murdered bodies before police had been called to the scene.

Additionally, Souza allegedly hired a hit on Judge Jaiza Maria Fraxe, but when her would-be assassin backed out, he simply had him killed instead. 

Although Souza has turned himself in to Brazilian police, he maintains his innocence.
