If the Balloon Boy saga were a hollywood movie–and it will be–this video clip would be one of those ham-fisted moments where the animal names involved, Falcon Heene and Wolf Blitzer, would come staring you in the face and you’d say, “What a hackneyed screenplay.” Yes, that is what our lives have become in this meta, reality television meets televised reality world–a hackneyed screenplay. Last night, Anderson Cooper unveiled a classic piece of footage from last week’s Heene Family interview on Larry King Live guest-hosted by Wolf Blitzer. In it, charming little Falcon responds to his parents’ request for him to say hello to Wolf with the question, “Who the hell is Wolf?” Like you’re one to talk, kid.
