Erick Rivera Caught Having Sex With Horses At Goshen Historic Track In New York

Erick Rivera, an 18 year-old in New York state, was arrested for sexual misconduct with horses on Thursday night at the Goshen Historic Track in the Village of Goshen. The arrest comes after a six-month sting that had police utilizing surveillance video to gain evidence. The article in the local paper says the police never caught Rivera in the act, so we don't really want to ponder the forensic research involved, but police do say that horsemen became suspicious in July when they found the fillies bridled and immobilized in their stalls during morning checks. Leave the ponies alone! What's funny to us is that, in a case like this, the local paper has no qualms about publicly flogging this dude. "Erick Rivera just couldn't take his mind off those fillies next door," says the lead sentence from the Times Herald-Record of Middletown. Also this:

Village police have accumulated a litany of sardonic observations during the six months they sought to identify their human stallion. The only one [Village of Goshen Police Chief James] Watt was prepared to repeat in print involved a comparison to the professional football player who served prison time for organizing dog fights. “This guy makes Michael Vick look like a charter member of PETA,” Watt said.

Why is violence always more acceptable than love? The Times Herald-Record also says that Rivera "had his way" with the horses "at least a dozen times" since July. Which we'd say, for an 18 year-old, is practicing some restraint, no? Rivera lived next door to the stables, though he had no affiliation with the track. He is being held in lieu of bail in Orange County. He is charged with a felony burglary count and two misdemeanors – sexual misconduct with an animal and petit larceny and may have also been charged by now with four additional counts each of burglary and sexual misconduct.
