Solange Magnano’s Family Files Malpractice Suit After Learning Her Deadly Butt Surgery Was Ghetto

Solange Magnano’s family has reconsidered their decision not to file a malpractice suit over the former Miss Argentina’s death last week due to complications from Gluteoplasty surgery, or a butt lift, as it is commonly known. It turns out the procedure is not sanctioned by the Argentina Association of Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery. And those people know from plastic surgery.

Dr. Guillermo Blugerman, president of the association, performed liposuction on Magnano in 2004 to flatten her stomach, but when she asked him to do the buttocks lift this year, he informed her that it was “not allowed to be done in Argentina.” He thinks she found some quack who filled her bottom with something foul. Well, obvs.

Dr. Carlos Navarro Ronco of San Francisco, Argentina also came forward to say that he advised Magnano against getting the surgery saying “the risk of stroke was highly significant.”

Magnano got her surgery at Centro de Medicina Estética y Salud Dra Mónica Portnoy in Buenos Aires. A clinic whose site is currently down and whose namesake is something of a showman herself. In a country where people get plastic surgery like haircuts, its hard to believe they would ban a buttlift. It must be a dangerous procedure. Magnano’s family decided to consult with lawyers when they learned that the clinic’s use of methacrylate–a substance used to create polymer plastics–to fill Magnano’s behind is considered controversial, or as Dr. Blugerman said, “not allowed.” Hmmm. That seems like a big difference. Whichever it is, the substance leaked out and caused a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that blocks blood supply to the lungs, killing Magnano.
