file_200881585041 Chilean weightlifter Elizabeth Poblete, who competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, gave birth to a baby during a training session in Sao Paulo, Brazil Tuesday, not knowing she was six-months pregnant. While this may sound really dumb, the Chilean Weightlifting Federation's report that Elizabeth was discharged from the hospital because she had no way to pay her bill, leads us to believe that Ms. Poblete was not exactly getting regular gynecological care. Perhaps, being a hardcore athlete, the 165 lb, 22 year-old was not used to having regular periods and chalked her condition up to that? Regardless, when Poblete began feeling pains during her workout, she was as surprised as anyone to deliver a 1,150 gram, 33.5 centimeter baby. The child is on a respirator in the ICU in a Sao Paulo hospital and still listed in critical condition. The hospital also denies the rumors that Ms. Poblete was discharged for failure to pay her bill. 82361303
