18-tila-tequila-020108 Tila Tequila explained on her blog this week where she got her stage name. Her real name is Tila Nguyen and she's Vietnamese, but apparently during high school in Houston, Texas, Tila got sent to juvie for beating up a guy, (yes a guy), and there she found a Mexican gang to take her in.
That's how I got the name "TILA TEQUILA" my Mexican family (gangsters) gamme dat name after I couldnt drink with them! LMAO! His name was Carlos Aguillero. He was the one who named me "TILA TEQUILA" i will never forget it. From my ex-gang bangin days! So u see? I went from gang-banger, juvenile criminal 2 changing my life around & now living the dream in HOLLYWOOD! If I can do it SO CAN U!
Provided your dream is famewhoring your way across the social networking universe. Though a lot of folks find it hard to believe Tila came from Houston (why?), she offers hard data to back up her claim:
I first lived in the Projects in Houston. Then we moved to HISD which is another hood for the hispanics, then finally moved 2 south side. Some-1 said they dont believe me. Well I dont care wut u think cuz its true. My family immigrated frm Vietnam of course we lived in projects! We only had 1 bedroom & 1 bed. My ENTIRE FAMILY had to all sleep in the same bed together cuz we were so poor! yall can look it up! In Houston...3rd Ward and 5th Ward. All hood! Then HISD! That's all the places I grew up! Im telling u...that was me!
So, anybody who's from there, like that one person who got very defensive the other day, if you can corroborate this story, we'd appreciate it.

I didn't get offended. I'm not even from Houston...just happen to be working here currently. But I have had experience with Valley people and I just think when you come from such a backwards place, you shouldn't diss on other places. Living in Texas, I've met several people from down there and they seem to all be the same. Growing up in obscurity, then going off to college or whatever here in civilization and then becoming know it alls on virtually every topic...even ones that they could possibly not have known nothing about prior to their college years down their in Deliverance. That's all.

Lol. How can I be defensive over a place I'm not even from?Annoyed is the better term. Simply stating that you fit the mold.

Tila was not a "Mexican gangbanger." She's not Mexican. And why is this even on this site? Why the obsession with low lifes and trash? SIGH...

LOL. good one. Sorry, I would never be able to get it up for someone who says "badaaaaass" more than 10 times a day and makes that annoying "ehhhhhhhh" sound all day. Never had my heart broken by one but they have collectively tested my patience on a few occasions.

I currently reside in Houston and as far as I know, HISD stands for Houston Independent School District. That's not a neighborhood, it's a school district
