Latino celebrities have taken to the Twittersphere to protest the draconian immigration bill that was signed into law by Governor Jan "The Wicked Witch of the Southwest" Brewer.
Funny mang George Lopez wrote on his Twitter page "ARIZONA .. George Lopez is coming .. Oops .. I just got pulled over .. Apparently I fit the profile .. Gacho !!" and "The Crackdown in ARIZONA continues .. The New Taco Bell TORTADA has been outlawed .by GOV Jan Brewer .. As a treat to the Colon"s of her people !"
He was joined by Ricky Martin who wrote "Racial profiling should never be tolerated, in the US or anywhere in the world. We’re moving backwards. Scary. #SB1070." Ricky has even more reason to hate Jan Brewer, because she also enacted laws limiting the rights of the homosexual partners of Arizona state employees.
Eva Longoria-Parker wrote "The recent legislation in Arizona threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness." Occasional Latina Jessica Alba also joined in the protest, reTweeting Lopez and Martin's posts.
Twitter [Ed. Note: Or tweeters, as my mom would say.] has become the go to forum for people to voice their grievances, and Latinos are making their online presence known.
