It seems Americans are learning what Mexican-Americans have known for ages: Mexican Coke tastes better than American Coke. It's cuz of the pure cane sugar. Also increasing in popularity down in Texas: Dublin Dr. Pepper (so-named because it is brewed (?) in Dublin, Texas), which is also made with pure cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

HFCS is the devil. But isn't excess soda consumption a way for poor kids in the Third world to get fat/diabetic? US-style fast food and sweets are too expensive, but water isn't safe to drink, so they drink coke and other sodas instead. All that sugar and calories sure ain't healthy for them. Oh Americans, what about you don't drink that much soda. It's so bad for you either way. And wasn't Vincente Fox head of Coke's Mexico operations before the became prez?

  I actually met more skinny Mexicans from Mexico, India, Asia not to mention Africa. It's when they move to America that they get fat.

There's this little cool, hip sandwich shop here in downtown Houston and they serve mexican coke there too. White folks go nuts over it.

  The Carneceria where I go for lunch has them in the Litre size. The gringos I work with went ape sh*# when they saw that.

I remember a few years ago my gringo boyfriend's gringo roommate bought Mexican coke to try and impress me with his knowledge of Mexican coke.
