The 57- year-old military chief of Colombia's leftist FARC rebels, Victor Julio Suarez Rojas, better known as Jorge Briceño, alias Mono Jojoy, was killed early yesterday morning. In the above news clip, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos confirms via telephone from New York, where he was attending the United Nations General Assembly, that, "A symbol of terror in Colombia has fallen."
Government forces conducted a bombing raid, featuring 30 planes and 27 helicopters, on Wednesday on Mono Jojoy's camp in an area known as La Macarena in southern Colombia. How long till the "Macarena" parody videos start appearing on YouTube?
