Texas Representative Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball), who represents the suburban Houston area, has filed a set of bills concerning illegal immigration and, one in particular, HB 17, mirrors Arizona's infamous SB 1070. Above Debbie donned her brightest Fresh Prince top to explain to Greta van Susteren how her legislation is not at all like SB 1070. Not so, says LULAC, who are protesting:

The first bill out of the chute was mandating that voters present a photo identification in order to cast a ballot. The other bills deal with clamp downs on undocumented immigrants, including an Arizona-type law and prohibiting sanctuary cities. Both proposals deal with encouraging law enforcement to inquire about the immigration status of those stopped for routine and other policing matters. Another bill would allow a police officer to arrest a person who he or she believes has committed an offense without a warrant. Before making that arrest, the officer must receive confirmation from ICE that the person is illegally in the United States.

Riddle was so excited to file this legislation that she failed to get through last session, (Translation: She was so excited to get credit for filing it.), that she orchestrated a PR stunt where she slept in the hallway of the Texas State Capital outside the clerk's office all weekend. (As if that was necessary. She has an office.)

Meanwhile, on local Austin television, Riddle let her hair down, having no problem saying on camera that people "are absolutely sick and tired of political correctness." What does that mean? People are tired of having to separate their prejudices from their law making? Very telling, Ms. Fresh Prince of Tomball.

Yes many people are sick and tired of political correctness in this country. The ones that are not are some of the beneficiaries of PC. Ask Juan Williams of NPR about Political Correctness. He mentioned he sometimes worried when people dressed in Muslim garb walked on his plane. For that he was fired by NPR. This happens all the time. We once had FREE speech in this country. Today a thought or a slip of a word can be a career ender. The “special people” … Jews, Muslims, homosexuals, blacks or Latinos get special rights, (affirmative action) and privileges today. And even the biased author of this article knows it. Everyone should be treated EQUAL! Affirmative action and Political Correctness is wrong and downright evil! Just because white men got special rights before the 70’s doesn’t make it right that certain minorities get special rights today. As a Hispanic woman I do not like political correctness and do not want affirmative action. I want to be treated the same as everyone else and compete with other races and sexes on an equal playing field. With affirmative action, quotas and political correctness that can never happen.

aqui tengo unas gamesas por el troll: @mayay Muslims, homosexuals, blacks, Latinos and immigrants really don't have it that good -- take a look at any set of social indicator data: mean income, education, home ownership and so forth. It is unclear why groups so under-resourced get your goat. Hard to imagine that one would want to trade their anger for the life that groups with "special rights" have. Read a book, quotas in hiring, college admission and contracting are illegal. But, lets play the game for the sake of interwebs drama (mas gaetas!) if 10% is "required quota" for minority groups (which is illegal and does not occur by law) then 90% are set aside for whites. Math is AWESOME! 90%>10%, so much better odds with 90% (ratios for another lesson). Chill out, you can keep saying all the sour things you want about these "special rights groups" and you will become the leader of a segment of some party or interest group. Saludos!

HARSH, YOU SAY? There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, all government business will be conducted in Our language. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or any government assistance programs. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property. That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies, if you do you will be sent home. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail. Harsh, you say? These are the immigration laws of “MEXICO.”

no, harsh *you* say. you ask that question twice in your copy and paste from newsletter to group for mass email/online post as instructed -- eh, uh, i mean "original comment post". no one on this thread page said anything about mexican law or used the word "harsh". non sequitur of a "post" at its finest. set your caps lock key now amor, because if you don't like mexicans, spanish and people with another point of view, you're going to be writing in all caps for a long long time.

Different campuses tend to have different degrees of political correctness, depending on their respective political environments. So-called conservative campuses tend to place less emphasis on political correctness than liberal campuses do. Thanks. Regards, online editing services

"KiwiRail alone could not afford the future operating costs Chanel Handbags Replica to keep Hillside open in the face of this decreasing work," Quinn said in a statement. "Hillside has made an important contribution to the development of rail in New Zealand since 1875 and this won't be forgotten. Many will be sad about its closure, however change is necessary as we continue to build Chanel Replicas a sustainable rail business for the challenges ahead. "We will be working closely with the Hillside team and their representatives as we progress to the next stage and start to wind down operations." Australian-based Bradken, has 34 manufacturing facilities throughout the world, including Dunedin. The firm makes cast, fabricated and machined components, and offers maintenance and refurbishment services. The Rail and Maritime Transport Union said the partial sale was cold comfort to the nearly 90 workers facing redundancy. "KiwiRail was been trying to sell Hillside since April, because ever since last year when the Replica Chanel Watches company decided to buy rolling stock overseas the viability of the workshops was thrown into question," said union acting general secretary Todd Valster.
