Meet Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, the 124-year-old Mexican grandma who knew Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula — fucking Pancho Villa! Leandra lives in Zapopan, Jalisco and she used to be an Adelita [Soldadera] who served under Villa during the Mexican Revolution (1910-1917).
Doña Leandra, who currently doesn't suffer from any sort of chronic illness, had been abandoned by her family for many years until the DIF (National System for Integral Family Development) found her relatives in 2008. According to an official press release by DIF, Leandra was an Adelitas leader who took her orders from Villa himself. She still "tells the stories" but only when "she's awake" which, as one can imagine, isn't that often.
Nothing has been officially confirmed but if DIF's statements check out, Leandra could be one of the longest living women pretty much ever. How amazing is that? Not to mention that knowing Pancho Villa gives you an insane amount of street cred!
