The World Reacts To Twitter, Facebook And LiveJournal’s Tech Problems

RT @myinnermonologue OMG U GUYS. w/ twitter down, we couldn’t share our brilliant insightful observations w/ strangers all mrng!!!
Ugh, it was terrible. See, Twitter, for those of you who were probably too busy interacting with people in real space to notice, was down due to a denial-of-service attack:
In a denial-of-service attack, hackers typically direct a “botnet,” often made up of thousands of malware-infected home PCs, toward a target site in an effort to flood it with junk traffic. With the site overwhelmed, legitimate visitors cannot access the service.
Facebook and LiveJournal have also been battling their own system issues today. Which basically means Allen Andrade (DON’T YOU FUCKING JUDGE HIM OR JESUS WILL SHIT ON YOUR HEAD!) and his ilk were the only people successfully socially networking on the internet today.
So, how have people reacted to all of this? Not well, friends. Not well. Let’s take a look at what some El Universal readers had to say:

AAHHHHH NOSOTROS TAMBIEN! (JAJA)

This is, by the way, the lamest type of commenter: The sort who take the time to comment on how they don’t care enough to comment. Or something.
A CNNEspansion commenter tried to make it seem like he keeps checking his ex’s status updates for work-related purposes:
Were any of you terrified / confused / lonely / enraged at the tech problems these sites are wrestling with today? You can share. This is a safe space. Well. Virtually.

and here i thought it was my crappy memory on my old ‘puter. then my boo tells me there’s some sort of router mishap for the bay area (cause he works with those thingys), and now this? will we ever be safe to post what we want to post when we want to post it?! how will people know i heard about sotomayor in a timely fashion?!
maybe i should, like, go ride my bike or something. it’s gorgeous outside.
Tweeting is for twats. Long live the fail whale! Nonetheless, I spent the day at the beach, so thankfully escaped most of the drama. In any case, I get a denial of service from BFs all the time. What’s with the hysteria?
Wow.. you’d think now that I’m a unemployed bumm I’d be tweeting more. but I’ve totally forgot about it.
Oh well. it’s not the end of the world.
I didn’t think i had any dictator-like tendencies but it makes me really happy that people where denied ’social networking.’
it was terrible, I actually had to work and converse with people instead of using the computer. Boy, was that difficcult. I forgot how much people talk more than 140 characters. I am so glad it is back on.
