A campaign to try and prevent swine flu has earned a giant “fail” in Mexico after a poster featured a giant black X over an image of Madrid mayor Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon greeting Esperanza Aguirre, Madrid’s president, with a kiss.

A Mexican sculptor is in the process of completing a statue honoring 5-year-old Edgar Hernandez, a boy thought to be the first person inflicted with swine flu during this year’s headline-grabbing outbreak.
